I am sure many of you have heard of a little upcoming concert, Desert Trip. You know, just some musicians like the Rolling Stones, The Who, Bob Dylan, Roger Waters, Neil Young, and Paul McCartney. Have you heard of them?
The show sold out just about instantly. People are coming from all over the world to see it. It is literally breaking records. And WE got to be a part of it!!
The concert, more like a 2-weekend party, is coming up in a few weeks and people are starting to get their ticket packages. The Desert Trip organizers went all out with this one (probably another record breaker)! Gorgeous packaging, colorful wrist bands, awesome informational book, and a completely customized viewer and 2 Image3D reels! It's nostalgia meets nostalgia! A perfect addition for the concert go-ers.
The viewer came in 3 different colors, desert-y yellow, red, and blue with the Desert Trip logo on the front. Reel 1 shows a 3D picture of each artist. Reel 2 shows 3D scenic shots of the venue and surrounding area. Perfect to get attendees excited for the concert! And, they can keep the reels and viewer forever as a cool keepsake. Even cooler, anyone with a Desert Trip viewer can make and purchase their own custom reels anytime they want on our website! I'm thinkin' reels of their own photos from the show? Yeah!
On our side, it was our biggest job of all time. 50,000 viewers in total and 100,000 reels! It was the first time Image3D ever had to run a swing shift. All of our machines (and bodies!) were put to the ultimate test and all came through with flying colors! While we do have a lot of machines doing our process, much of it is still done by hand. For example, this job required a 2 color imprint, which means 2 stamps per viewer, which means someone had to hit that button 100,000 times! If you'd like to see the process, watch us on How It's Made!
While the entire package is a thing of beauty and the concert is one that will talked about for ages, we are, of course, super thrilled about the response to our reels and viewers!
